PartyPlease: MVP design for a party planning marketplace.

PartyPlease is a party planning marketplace that connects hosts with vendors, making it easy to book services, manage details, and throw unforgettable events.

The Problem

Party hosts need an easy way to discover ideas and trusted vendors, while vendors want a seamless way to handle bookings, logistics, and payments.

The Solution

We built a platform where hosts can explore themes, find and book vendors, and manage party details. Vendors can showcase services, schedule bookings, and communicate with clients—all through intuitive dashboards and in-app tools.

Business Goals

As a portfolio company of Platform Venture Studio, PartyPlease aimed to launch an MVP in 6–8 weeks to gather early insights and guide next steps. I collaborated closely with the team from concept to launch. These original designs represent the MVP we shipped.

UI Foundations

Before diving into individual screens, here’s a representative look at the core design system that supported rapid MVP development.

Color Palette A minimal, high-contrast palette built for accessibility and brand recognition across product and marketing surfaces.

Typography A clear type system that supports hierarchy and reinforces the brand’s approachable, modern tone.

Basic UI Components Foundational building blocks created for clarity, consistency, and speed — designed to grow with the product and scale with the system.

Desktop Experience Highlights

Responsive design brings PartyPlease to life on larger screens, offering streamlined vendor discovery, booking tools, and party coordination.

Search & Homepage Navigation Designed to match hosts with the right vendors quickly. Search filters by date, location, and occasion, plus curated categories to spark discovery.

Product Details & Booking Inputs Product modals display rich visuals and detailed booking inputs, offering space for custom inputs and special instructions.

Vendor Pages & Partner Features Vendor pages showcase products, branding, and preferred partners, making it easy to collaborate and connect.

Vendor Dashboard A centralized hub where vendors manage bookings, respond to event requests, track their calendar, and follow up with hosts.

Host Dashboard Hosts can track party details, manage vendor bookings, and leave reviews with organized views for upcoming and past events.

Mobile Experience Highlights

Designed for busy hosts and on-the-go vendors, the mobile experience covers everything from discovery to booking to payouts — no desktop needed.

Host Onboarding & Checkout A tailored search helps hosts quickly find the right vendors. The mobile booking process is smooth, with account creation only required at checkout.

Host Dashboard Hosts can view their parties, drill into event details, and rate vendors post-event with easy access to booking info.

Vendor Tools & Biz Management Vendors can manage their storefronts, bookings, payouts, and more with full access to all tools on mobile. No compromises.
